OHDC is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors. It is a diverse group representing all segments of the community.    Each Director serves with no compensation and is selected by such factors as geographic location, income level, professional expertise. Their combined experience and skills bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise that OHDC can utilize in formulating and carrying out its programs and activities.

FRED BARERRA
DIRECTOR

Mr. Barerra retired in 1996 after 20 years of service to the City of Orange as a Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem.   He was affiliated with many local organizations including the Assistance League, Orange Rotary, Orange Unified School District (OUSD), Title VII Special Program, Intercultural Education Committee, Senior Citizens Monitoring Committee, and Friendly Center.   He has been involved with gang prevention giving encouragement and support to at-risk children in the community with a focus on special challenges and cultural barriers for Hispanics.   He has sponsored programs for disadvantaged, at-risk, minority students in grades K-12 in the OUSD.   He is the recipient of the City of Orange Citizen of the Year Award, Local School Supporter Award and Title VII Community Award.
