Bowen Court, Huntington Beach

The Bowen Court senior project was an architectural challenge as the City of Huntington Beach required the project to emulate the massing of the adjacent single- family residential tract. The exterior of the project continues the existing craftsman and prairie theme of the neighborhood. There are 20 one-bedroom units. Amenities include a community room with its front porch on the street, laundry room, and an interior courtyard with outdoor barbecues and garages. The residents have access to a bus for local shopping and the services of a residential services coordinator. The project was developed by OHDC and the Related Companies and funded by the City of Huntington Beach Redevelopment Agency and California Tax Credit Allocation Program. This project was awarded the Golden Nugget 2003 Award of Merit for Best Senior Project Active Adult by Premier Building Show and BUILDER Magazine.
